A dovecote is a structure intended to house pigeons or doves. Our dovecotes are made from the highest quality materials.
In England, the creation of dovecotes started in the Norman period, from 1066 to 1154. It used to be the case, that keeping doves was a sign of wealth, so you will generally see old style dovecotes close to castles and great houses. They were orignally created to attract pigeons and doves to be eaten by members of nobility.
Over the years, dovecotes have become an ornamental addition to buildings. They are decorative and look like they are from a fairy tale world, giving houses a whimsical look.
